FAQs about Erasmus+ studies
How many credits do I need to collect in a semester in a foreign university?
The same as in the semester at VU. Usually - 30 credits.
How to make a study plan at a foreign university?
Subjects are chosen by the student himself from the list of subjects offered by the foreign university for an exchange student. The head of SPK needs to approve the plan.
What do I need to do before going on an exchange (after selection)?
You need to receive a letter from the foreign university with all the information about the documents.
After that, you need to fill out the Study plan and it must be approved by the Head of SPK. Also, you need to fill Learning agreement (LA) in the system (learning-agreement.eu) and send the study plan to the faculty coordinator and inform them about the signed LA. After the coordinator signs, the LA must be signed by the foreign university.
If you have all three signatures of the LA and the study plan signed by the head of SPK, you can fill in a request for the study period abroad via VU IS.
Once the order is prepared, the grant agreement must be filled out and signed.
If the foreign university needs additional documents, they are issued by the international studies coordinator of the faculty.
What can I do to change subjects after going to a foreign university?
First of all, it is necessary to coordinate the changes with the head of SPK. After that, fill out the LA section "During the Mobility" in the system, noting what things you are giving up and what things you are choosing instead. The SPK approval must be sent to the international studies coordinator of the faculty and the coordinator must be informed about the LA changes. After the coordinator signs, the foreign university signs it too.
What to do after coming back?
Submit the Certificate of attendance to the Department of International Relations.
Fill out the necessary documents, about which you will be informed by the International Relations Department.
Upon receiving the Transcript of Records (ToR), submit an application to VU IS for credit approval.
Is there a debt if I return with less than 30 credits?
Yes, it is considered debt. After Erasmus+ studies, a student with no more than 20 credits of debt and/or a credit deficit after Erasmus+ studies is given the opportunity to continue his studies and sign a free listener contract. You need to pay for the contract.
After Erasmus+ studies, a student with debts of more than 20 credits and/or a lack of credits after Erasmus+ studies must suspend his studies and collect the missing credits with a free listener contract during the suspension of studies.
Where can I find the documents that need to be completed before and after mobility?
All documents will be available in the Teams group for outgoing students.
Where does the signing of financial contracts take place?
The CR TRS coordinator (for financial matters) is responsible for signing financial contracts. The signing of financial contracts takes place in the Central Administration (CA), at the place designated by the TRS and at the specified time.
Are the results obtained at a foreign university included in the progress queue at VU?
No, the progress queue is based on the results of the last VU semester.
Can I stop my Erasmus+ studies and return to continue my studies at VU?
If you are not satisfied with your studies, feel insecure or have faced serious health problems, you can end your exchange. You must inform the CA TRS and the international relations coordinator of the faculty about this. You can continue your studies at VU if you terminate your Erasmus+ studies before the end of the first semester month at VU (September 30/February 28). If Erasmus+ studies are terminated later, we will no longer be able to create conditions for you to continue your studies at VU, you will need to take an academic leave/stop your studies and then start the semester at VU from the beginning.
Also, you will need to return the Erasmus grant (if you didn't stay longer than 90 days) or the balance if you stayed for 90 days or more but didn't stay for the period for which you received the grant, i.e. return the balance of the grant for the days you were paid for, but didn't stay on the Erasmus.
