A minor study programme is a part of a bachelor's study programme. It consists of compulsory and elective courses in another field of study. The Faculty of Philology offers minor studies in foreign languages and cultures, literature, linguistics, and translation, which will complement or enhance your main studies.
Minor studies is one of the opportunities of your individualised studies - it consists of 60 credits, which are arranged in 10, 15 or 20 credits per semester. So, if you choose minor studies, you will not participate in the registration of Individualised Study Courses (INDs) but will instead study the subjects included in the minor studies‘ plan.
You can choose minor studies at the Faculty of Philology if you have designated 60 credits of individualised studies in your study plan.
Registration for the minor studies takes place in the second semester of the first year, from 1 April to 30 April. Please note: If you miss this registration deadline, you cannot register for the minor studies at a later date.
Minor studies start in the second year of studies, in the autumn semester (3), and end in the autumn semester (7) of the fourth year. The final stage of the minor studies is completed by preparing and presenting a final project or passing a final examination. Your completed minor studies will be indicated in your Bachelor‘s diploma.
