PhD student Vuk Vukotic
So Vuk presents his topic: The talk will present the preliminary findings of a comparative study on how linguists talk publically about language in three sociolinguistically very different environments. Special attention is paid to language ideologies expressed in the discourse of the linguists.
And so about himself:
"I come from a double background. I got my first degree in Scandianavian languages from the University of Belgrade (Serbia), and my second one in communication sciences at Vilnius university. The result is that my current PhD project (at the Research Institute of the Lithuanian Langauge) is in the field of sociolinguistics: a comparative research on ideologies of language in the public space in Lithuania, Norway and Serbia."
