Prestižinis senovės filosofijos žurnalas „Phronesis“ publikavo Anglistikos, romanistikos ir klasikinių studijų instituto docento dr. Viliaus Bartninko monografijos ''𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘺“, publikuotos gerai žinomoje tarptautinėje leidykloje „Cambridge University Press“ 2023 m., recenziją. Recenzentas Dimitri El Murr apžvelgė įvairias Platono ir Sokrato tyrimams skirtas knygas, atkreipdamas dėmesį į dr. Bartninko monografijos vertę, naujumą ir išskirtinumą.
Kritikas rašo: ''𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘴𝘮𝘪𝘤 𝘎𝘰𝘥𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘌𝘢𝘳𝘭𝘺 𝘈𝘤𝘢𝘥𝘦𝘮𝘺" is the title of Vilius Bartninkas’ monograph which just came out of his Cambridge PhD. This fairly descriptive title hides more than it reveals what this excellent book has to offer. In four lucidly written and clearly structured chapters, Bartninkas not only comments in detail the most interesting passages devoted to theogony, anthropogony and politogony in the Timaeus, Critias, and Laws, but above all expands our understanding of Plato’s views of the relationship between philosophy and religion. One distinctive result of his argument is to prove that there is no systematic attempt on Plato’s part to reduce the traditional gods to the cosmic gods in his later work (such an undertaking will fall to Plato’s successors in the Academy, and this is the topic of chapter 4). Plato does not resolve the tension between cosmology and religion but rather explores and uses their interactions for his own philosophical purposes. This is an important and fascinating result which prompts us to qualify the standard view according to which Platonic theology is merely critical of traditional religion."
Sveikiname dr. Vilių Bartninką su tarptautinės bendruomenės įvertinimu ir linkime tolimesnės kūrybinės sėkmės!
