Svetozar Poštič is working on a book entitled Homo Insipiens: The Fool and the Clown in Western Culture in Literature. The first part, already completed, is a historical and cultural overview of the concept and the real and fictional fools and clowns in western culture. The second will consist of an analysis of those figures in the works of three authors: William Shakespeare, Fyodor Dostoevsky, and Samuel Beckett, who are known for having them as character in almost all of their works. The author will present his work in progress.
